Tory Lanez’s cries of innocence continue with new evidence in play!
The sensational rapper fell from grace in 2020 after being accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot. The allegations dragged on for two years until a jury found the hip-hop star guilty of all charges relating to the case in December 2022.
Following the verdict, the “LUV” artist has vehemently denied the charges while increasing his efforts to stay out of prison. The criminal defense attorney, Jose Baez, joined the fight for the Canadian’s freedom and recently dropped unexpected details about the case.
Tory Lanez’s Lawyer Claims They Have New Information About The Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case
In an Instagram Story update, the Baez law firm founder shared a dashing picture of himself in a suit alongside an overlay text. The message hinted at the possibility of inadequate evidence handling in his client’s case.
The lawyer dropped the bombshell on April 25 and wrote: “Today is National DNA Day. We are happy to announce that Tory Lanez will release information about the DNA in his case that gave false and misleading information to his jury.”
The criminal defense attorney ended his caption with the hashtag “#FreeToryLanez,” soliciting favor for the “Who Needs Love” rapper’s freedom from possible incarnation. Baez’s claims implied that the DNA highlighted in the case might have been used to influence his client’s guilty verdict.
Although the lawyer did not shed more light on the case, one can only imagine if the DNA in question was that found on the alleged weapon discharged against Megan in 2020.
When Lanez planned on releasing the new evidence remains unclear. However, this is not the first time the entertainer has highlighted the wrongs done against him in court. Over the weekend, the record producer accused prosecutors of several wrongdoings in a fiery letter to LA County District Attorney George Gascon.
Before posting this letter on his Instagram Story, the Canadian announced his plans to continue fighting against what he claimed was a prejudiced case against him. The Juno Award winner’s first note to his followers read:
“Until my court date, I’ll be posting the OUTRAGEOUS & DISGUSTING INJUSTICES used against me by the PROSECUTION to get the conviction they so DESPERATELY wanted, DESPITE the evidence they knew existed.”
Following this post, the One Umbrella founder shared his aggrieved letter, calling out the DA to ensure he got justice against those who abused their power to make him the villain in their narrative. The “Broke In A Minute” rapper’s message began:

“Dear George Gascon, I write this message with the utmost humility, love, and respect for the remarkable stance you’ve taken regarding fighting for the justice of Black and Brown minorities.”
Addressing his case, the 30-year-old stated that he was appealing to the DA as an “innocent Black Man” who was wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit. As for those who tried to do him dirty, Lanez wrote:
“I’ve watched 2 district attorneys from your office by the names of Kathy Ta and Alex Bott unlawfully misuse their authority to hide and suppress any exculpatory evidence that exonerates me or furthers my innocence. I was completely robbed and deprived of a fair trial.”
Lamenting about the unfairness of his trial, the “Talk to Me” artist implored Gascon to do what he had been elected for, which was his “outstanding eminence” in making fair and correct judgments.
The Canadian also noted that he was not seeking justice only for himself but for his six-year-old son, his loved ones, his fans, and the “hundreds of thousands of Black and Hispanic minorities that cannot adequately fight for themselves.”
The ‘Feels’ Artist Appealed His Guilty Verdict In The Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Trial
Last month, The Blast reported that Lanez planned on fighting his guilty verdict in the highly publicized shooting case. The father-of-one appealed his conviction using the latest addition to his defense team, Baez.
In the legal documents obtained by sources, the criminal defense lawyer based the appeal on “irrelevant evidence” used by prosecutors. The lawyer’s first accusation involved the shirtless picture of his client used in the case.
Baez claimed that this image of Lanez was used to manipulate the jury because it showed the rapper’s firearm tattoo on his chest. According to the lawyer, it made people think the hip-hop star was interested in weapons.
The defense lawyer, who allegedly received a monthly salary of $200,000, slammed prosecutors for their evil behavior, such as threatening to present his client’s rap lyrics to the jury.
He also found them guilty of using Megan’s statements to the police after the shooting. In her story, the female rapper claimed the assailant begged her not to discuss the incident because he was on probation.
