Private chef’s $2K pizza for celebrity client blasted: ‘Out of touch with reality’

Definitely not your dollar slice.

A private celebrity chef shared an outlandish pizza worth over $2,000 which has led to many calling out the ludicrous lifestyle of the individual that asked for it.

Chef Brooke Baevsky shared the journey of shopping, cooking, and serving the gold-infused flatbread in a now-viral and controversial TikTok last week.

“My celebrity client wants a $2,000 pizza appetizer for the dinner tonight, let’s go to Erewhon,” Baevsky says as she takes the trip to the upscale supermarket chain only found in Los Angeles County, California.

The grocery bill for the pies costs the private chef $944, more than the average $348 food bill Americans pay each month, according to financial tech company SmartAsset.

The shopping spree consisted of organic figs, adaptogenic mushroom powders, organic almonds, sprouted gluten-free flour blends, some cooking oils, and two $30 Erewhon water bottles.

She capped the order off with $250 worth of organic manuka honey from New Zealand and a $200 jar of caviar.

The pie was topped with gold flakes, dairy-free almond cheese and arugula.

The extravagant pie featured a dough made from a mixture of the oils and flour blends, a heavy dose of olive oil, a base of a “super food hemp seed vegan pesto with microgreens,” is then placed on top alongside a dairy-free, almond milk ricotta, and tomatoes.

The bank-breaking pizza is then given a second serving of the vegan pesto that has 24-karat gold flakes in it and then some manuka honey caramelized figs with sea salt and more gold flakes before some organic arugula is sprinkled on top.

“Lastly I make an organic date and fig balsamic reduction and then top the pizza with even more 24-karat gold flakes,” Baevksy says as she slices into the pie.

For the pizza lovers, Baevsky did not forget the most important side of ranch dressing, but she of course had to make it expensive.

“I know what you’re thinking, every pizza needs a side of ranch, so I do a dairy-free cashew ranch and I mix in a ton of caviar,” the chef adds.

TikTok critics were left in disbelief after viewing Baevsky’s post, with many blasting the people who asked for the immoderate dish.

“I need to know what monster requested this garbage flavored flatbread,” said one commenter.

“This pizza makes me want to tax the rich,” added another before someone else said ‘the people requesting this are out of touch with reality.”

“I simply CANNOT have POOR PEOPLE water I MUST have $30 water,” mocked one user.

Other users commented on the rising costs of food due to inflation and how some people are having trouble getting by with one saying “I just saw a mother arrested for trying to steal baby formula for her toddler.”

“No shade to your job, but all I can think of is how many homeless people could be fed for the cost of a pizza!!” a commenter named Melissa said before another one added, “I’m a teacher and I eat ramen noodles because I can’t afford groceries until pay day. But slay.”

Some other commenters thought more logically adding they thought the size would’ve been larger and there were better, tastier options out there.

“I’ll take 99 cent slice from the bodega any day over this… but good job.”

“Not me thinking $2000 was going to be the pizza for over 100+ people…” another one added.
