A North Carolina defense attorney found herself on the wrong side of the law when she allegedly assaulted a woman and then faked a seizure.

Cops from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to an assault call shortly before noon Monday to the law office of 53-year-old Mary Leazer Rogers. When they arrived, police found a woman with a bloodied and scratched-up face.

According to Rogers’ arrest affidavit, the victim said Rogers accused her of having a personal relationship with a client who had been at the office earlier in the day. The victim told officers that Rogers wants to “have a sexual relationship” with her, but she has rebuffed Rogers’ attempts, the affidavit said. Rogers began “arguing with the victim and cursing at the victim,” and that’s when the assault allegedly occurred.
