Steven Bryan

An Indiana boy who disappeared in 2022 has been found safe and his mother arrested for custody interference.

Steven Bryan, now 5, was located Tuesday afternoon at a home in Bloomington, WXIN reported.

Steven was last seen at a home on Elderberry Court in Mooresville on June 9, 2022, as CrimeOnline reported. Authorities said at the time, they believed he was with his mother, Deborah Bryan, and her boyfriend, Caleb Blevins.

Investigators issued a Silver Alert for the boy in August 2022. The boy, his mother, and her boyfriend disappeared when the boy’s father had a scheduled visit with him. A warrant was issued for Deborah Bryan’s arrest for interference with custody.

All three — Blevins, Bryan, and the 5-year-old boy — were spotted at a home in Bloomington, some 35 miles from Mooresville, where he disappeared. Bryan was arrested on the outstanding warrant, and Mooresville Police said Blevins would likely be charged with assisting her.

Court documents say that Blevins and Bryan deactivated their cell phones when they disappeared and closed Bryan’s bank account.

Mooresville Police Chief Kerry Buckner said that the investigation will continue and that detectives are looking to see who helped hide the family from authorities.

“I will tell you this, this has been a big load on law enforcement,” Buckner said. “These people used a lot of resources and a lot of time. We gave (them) every opportunity just to come forward, or do a Zoom call, just to show us … We were worried about Caleb Blevins, along with the child, but they refused to cooperate and from here on out, anybody that had a hand on assisting them, we plan on filing charges on them.”
