Real Madrid have joined Arsenal and Liverpool with a serious interest in a transfer for Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian could even replace Karim Benzema in La Liga.
That is according to Sport, which reports that Kudus has mesmerised Real Madrid since the 22-year-old moved into a false-nine role at Ajax. Galacticos chiefs admire his versatility and threat in the attacking areas as Los Blancos plan a future that no longer involves Benzema.
Kudus has captivated some of Europe’s elite clubs having scored 18 and assisted five goals in 35 games this season. His efforts include finding the back of the net as a centre-forward, attacking midfielder and right-forward. He moved into a role on the wings earlier this year.

Real Madrid view Mohammed Kudus as a successor to Karim Benzema
Potential suitors are now approaching Kudus’ camp to sound out his situation ahead of the summer transfer window. Real Madrid are paying close attention to developments and his form in Amsterdam. The Galacticos are further weighing up making Ajax an offer this year.
Real Madrid believe Kudus would be a more affordable target than launching an ambitious move for Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland. So, Los Blancos intend to push Ajax for a deal if neither of their top targets are attainable. They are desperate to sign an heir for Benzema.

But Real Madrid may have to rival Arsenal, Liverpool and several Premier League teams for Kudus’ transfer from Ajax. 90min reports the Gunners and Reds, plus Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, have been extensively scouting the 21-cap Ghana talent.

Arsenal and Liverpool have eyes on the Ajax star in view of his transfer
Erik ten Hag has made it clear to Manchester United that he wants to reunite with his old Ajax gem. But AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, SSC Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain are also in the running. Scouts working for Europe’s elite have regularly monitored Kudus.
Liverpool started tracking Kudus on the request of Jurgen Klopp in September, per Sports World Ghana. The German ordered the Reds to track his efforts after scoring at Anfield in the Champions League. Liverpool watched the midfielder at the 2022 World Cup, as well.
Kudus, who Ajax boss and Everton hero John Heitinga calls ‘exceptional’, scored a brilliant goal at Liverpool as a striker. But he could improve the Reds or Arsenal’s midfield if either Premier League team thwarts Real Madrid’s likely pursuit of the Ajax sensation’s transfer.
