Fans of the show will remember Christopher as Lorelai Gilmore’s on/off boyfriend and father of her daughter Rory.

But these days David, 54, spends his time practicing “core energetics” – a form of psychology that brings together body, mind and spirit.

He officially retired from acting in 2019 and, in a statement released at the time, said: “It was a long time coming. My heart hasn’t been in it for years, but it wasn’t easy letting go of a career that gave me so much for so long.

“I’m grateful for the opportunities I had to work on so many great shows with great people. And I’m especially grateful to the fans for all the love and support you’ve given me through the years. You guys are awesome! Thank you.”

He continued: “As some of you know, I’ve spent the last twelve years immersed in a deep study of Core Energetics, a powerful somatic psychotherapy that uncovers the unconscious emotional blocks that keep us from being fully alive and engaged with life.

“I was personally transformed by the work, and in 2012 I graduated from the four-year training program at the Radical Aliveness Institute in Southern California. I’ve been leading groups and workshops ever since.”

During his acting career David also appeared in shows including Friends, Will & Grace and Cold Feet.
