William Moon Fdny Funeral:- William Moon, a firefighter who passed away on December 12 in Brooklyn following a training mishap, had a wake on Wednesday. Hannah Kliger of CBS2 reported that the atmosphere was sombre and depressing. To support the loved ones and friends attending the wake, firefighters lined up outside. People who knew Moon, also known as Billy, both professionally and personally are remembering his life of service. Moon, also known as Billy, lived on Long Island but worked in Brooklyn.

William Moon was given special recognition on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at his Brownsville fire station by the New York City Fire Department. Following a drill, the FDNY firefighter passed away last week. Later on, his family made the decision to remove his life support and donate his organs. William Moon was honoured by fellow firefighters with a bunting ceremony, which is a custom observed by the FDNY when a member of the department passes away. William’s relatives also came to the memorial service.

What Happened To William

William Moon formerly served at Ladder Company 133 in Queens before joining Rescue Company 2, the department that hires the best firefighters from the department. The firefighter, who had over 20 years of service in the department, also volunteered in his Long Island hometown of Islip. William was killed by fatal head injuries after falling 20 feet. Until the family made the decision to turn off his life support, he was on it. His wife, Kristina, and their two children, Bri and Collin, are still alive.
