Keishla Rodriguez Oritz was the girlfriend of Felix Verdejo who is a Puerto Rican former professional boxer. He was convicted for killing his pregnant girlfriend Keishla and son who was due to be born in 2021. Keishla’s body was found in a lagoon. Felix has been convicted of kidnapping and killing her. He was found guilty on 28 July 2023.

Keishla Rodriguez was born to Jose Antonio Rodriguez. Keishla Rodriguez was in a relationship with Felix Verdejo with whom she got pregnant but Felix kidnapped her and killed her and her unborn child. He has been convicted of kidnapping and killing her almost two years after Keishla Rodriguez Ortiz’s body was found in a lagoon in San Juan.
A jury delivered a verdict on 29 July 2023 in which The jury was composed of 3 men and 0 women. Felix was charged with kidnapping and killing her girlfriend. He was charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime after Keishla Rodriguez’s body was found in a lagoon in San Juan.
The trial was held in the U.S. District Court of Puerto Rico. The trial ended with Felix guilty of kidnapping and causing of the death an unborn child along with her girlfriend. Felix’s sentence is set for 3 November 2023.
A request for comment from People on Friday night was done but the lawyer of Verdejo didn’t respond. Keishla Rodriguez’s father said while talking to reporters after the verdict,

“May he live the rest of his life thinking about everything he did to my daughter.”
He added,
“the truth always prevails. I do not wish him death. I wish him good health and that he can live as long as he can live. If he wants to live 200 years, let him live, but that he remembers what he did to my daughter, always.”
Keishla’s father said in a news release
“Gender violence is a social evil, based on ignorance and attitudes that cannot have space or tolerance in Puerto Rico that we aspire to. It is my duty and my commitment as governor to establish a STOP to gender violence and for these purposes, I have declared a state of emergency.”
