A Florida woman condemned to more than four years in jail after meeting a Holocaust survivor online. The lady, Peaches Stergo, is charged with deceiving and taking the life savings of a Holocaust survivor. About seven years ago, Stergo and the victim connected on a dating service.
A New York judge has sentenced Peaches Stergo, a Florida woman who met a Holocaust survivor online, to more than four years in jail for scamming her and taking her life savings.
She reportedly began her plan shortly after meeting the victim in 2017 through a dating service. During the subsequent four years, the suspect scammed the victim of millions of dollars while claiming that she was required to pay her attorneys for withholding money from settlements for injuries.

Six months prior to her sentencing, Peaches Stergo was charged with one count of wire fraud for scamming an 87-year-old victim and robbing him of $2.8 million.
Authorities claimed that the reported injury settlement did not exist and the suspect never got the money from it. The suspect’s extravagant lifestyle was reportedly supported by the funds that were purportedly transferred into his account.
According to the prosecution, Stergo and the victim first connected on a dating website around seven years ago. Sturgo created many fake excuses, such as claiming the money was required to pay phony legal bills to alleviate an injury suffered, in order to trick the victim into making deposits into her account throughout the course of the following four and a half years.
According to U.S. Attorney Damian Williams, who is prosecuting the case, “Stergo used millions of dollars in the fraud’s proceeds to live a life of opulence at the victim’s expense.” She was unable to escape the repercussions, though.
In the press release, U.S. District Judge Edgardo Ramos stated that Sturgo’s acts were “unspeakably cruel” and driven by “greed.”
