Who is Olayide Adelami? Wiki, Age, Early Life, Education, Career
Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami was born to the family of Oluka Oribokun by Pa and Mrs Amos Adelami in 1961. He graduated from Imade College in Owo and pursued his GCE A level at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Lagos. He obtained an MBA degree from Ogun State University.
After completing the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in June 1983, Adelami joined the Federal Civil Service as an Accountant II in December 1983.
He worked in various capacities, including serving as one of the pioneer staff of the Constituent Assembly, which later became the National Assembly.
He played a crucial role in setting up the Finance and Accounts Department of the National Assembly and contributed to establishing similar departments at the Petroleum Special Trust Fund and the Family Support Trust Fund.

In 2000, Adelami returned to the National Assembly to strengthen the Finance Department and later became the Head of the Finance and Accounts Department. After attending the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in 2008, he pioneered the newly created Department of Procurement and Supplies.
He was promoted to the position of Secretary (Permanent Secretary) at the Directorate of Procurement, Estate, and Works in 2014. Adelami served as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
Beyond his career, Chief Olayide Adelami utilized his goodwill to attract physical development and impact the lives of the Owo community and beyond.
After retirement, he entered the political arena and was appointed as the Coordinator of the Presidential Support Committee in Ondo state.
His role involved reconciling aggrieved APC members and coordinating support groups for the president’s reelection. Adelami’s efforts contributed to delivering significant votes for the APC in the state.
