Shortly after his professional debut, he joined the Bulls franchise during the first season of United’s Rugby Championship (URC). He soon became a regular on the team coached by Jake White. His team advanced to the 2022 championship playoffs and finished runner-up.
In August 2022, he joined the Springboks’ touring squad for an away game against Australia in the Rugby Championship. Moodie scored a try in the 38th minute on his Test debut against Australia in Sydney.
He became the second youngest player ever to play for the Springboks and won his first cap.
In June 2023 he was added to his larger 40-man squad for his 2023 Rugby Championship and Rugby World Cup training camps.
