Vetri Duraisamy Family

Vetri Duraisamy is a film director and the son of former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy. Vetri has been missing since Sunday when he and his friend Gopinath alongside his car driver were traveling, the car skidded off the road and rolled into the Sutlej River on 4 January 2024. The car driver Tanjeev was found dead whereas Vetri’s friend Gopinath was found alive with injuries. 

The car driver Tanjeev was a resident of Tabo in Himachal Pradesh. Gopinath was sent to the hospital where he underwent medical treatment. 

The whole incident occurred around 1:30 pm on Sunday when they were going to Shimla from Kaza in Lahaul-Spiti district. Kinnaur’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Naveen Jalta said, 

“The vehicle fell in Sutlej river. There were three people in the vehicle, two of them were tourists from Tamil Nadu. Vetri Duraisamy, a resident of CIT Nagar, Nandanam, Chennai, is missing, while Gopinath, 32, a resident of Palayam in Vellakovil (Tiruppur), was injured and referred to a hospital in Shimla.”

The Endraavathu Oru Naal movie’s lead role actor Vidaarth stated, 

“Vetri will definitely come back soon. I have great confidence in his ability to survive. As someone who is passionate about wildlife photography, he has witnessed a great deal of adventure and this is going to be one such thing.”

“Even though he is from a family with a huge political background, Vetri has helped many people who were truly in need and is incredibly giving and humble.” 

“We used to get together frequently and our friendship only grew after the shoot of Endraavathu Oru Naal.”

Vetri Duraisamy is a multi-talented filmmaker, aviculturist, businessman, wildlife photographer, and aeromodeller. He founded Vetri Ventures which dealt with media, entertainment, hospitality, and real estate. He co-founded Vetri Aero which was a company that specialized in aeromodelling and drone technology.

Vetri Duraisamy served as the director of Vetri Aero. He is also a wildlife photographer and has a collection of rare and exotic birds at his arm in Chennai. As a director, his debut film was Endraavathu Oru Nall which was directed in 2012. The movie won 43 awards across various national and international film festivals.

Vetri Duraisamy was born in 1979 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu to Saidai Duraisamy (Father) and Mallika (Mother). His paernts hae ben married for voer 50 eyars. His father is a senior leader of the All India Anan Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party and a former Mayor of Chennai. Vetri was exposed to the world of cinema becasue his father had been a close associate of M.G. Ramachandran who was a legendary actor and politician. 

Vetri Duraisamy is a marreid man. He and his wife live in a luxurious bungalow in Chennai. His wife’s name is not known. The couple has no children. 

Vetri Duraisamy is 45 years old as of now. He is an Indian and belongs to a Tamil family. He is a Hindu. He completed his high school studies at St. Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai.

He completed his bachelor’s degree in commerce from Loyola College and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Madras. 

Vetri Duraisamy’s height is 5 feet 9 inches. His weight is 70 kg. He has a black eye. His net worth is around Rs 55 crores.
