India’s Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s elder sister Rajeshwariben Shah passed away at a hospital in Mumbai on 15 January 2024. She was not keeping well for some time and undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mumbai.
Amit Shah canceled all his programs for the day. Her funeral service was held at her residence in Ahmedabad in the morning. Her final rites will be held at Thaltej crematorium, sitting at Jade Hall next to Rajpath Club.
Since Sunday, Amit Shah was already in Ahmedabad to celebrate the kite festival with the BJP supporters.
Amit Shah was about to attend two events including Banaskantha to inaugurate Banas Dairy projects at Deodar village and Gandhinagar districts to unveil projects at Rashtriya Raksha University.
The BJP office-bearer said,
“Following the death of his ailing sister, Shah has canceled all his programs for the day. Rajeshwariben’s mortal remains have been brought to her residence here today morning and her last rites will be performed at Thaltej crematorium in the afternoon.”
