Mary Jean Ellis Barr, age 93, of Hopkinsville passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at her Jennie Stuart. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted Maddux Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with the care of their loved one.
Mrs. Barr was born November 15, 1928, in Evansville, IN. The daughter of the late John E. and Lillyan DeForsest Ellis. She was a retired church secretary for Henderson Memorial Baptist Church and a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee C. Barr in 2008; her sons, Brett Barr in 2004, Todd Barr in 2006; her daughter, Mary Lee Jones in 1993; and her granddaughter, Laurel Russel in 2011.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Kaycie Jones of Hopkinsville; her brother, John Ellis of Evansville; her great-grandchildren, Devin Russell, Jordan Jones, Tatiana Russell, and Trae Brodie.
