Marcus Semien and Tarah Murrey have been together since their school days at St. Mary’s and UC Berkeley.
The couple got married on January 28, 2012, and have four children. Their first son, Isaiah, was born in 2015, followed by Joshua in 2018, Eli in 2021, and their latest addition, Amelie, in 2023.
The second baseman for the Rangers shared his happiness and joy on a Saturday at Minute Maid Park.
This was just three days after his wife, Tarah Murrey, gave birth to their fourth child, Amelie.
Semien returned to his team right before Sunday’s Game 1 of the American League Championship Series against the Astros.
He was especially thankful to be present for the birth of his daughter during this important playoff season.
In an interview, he said:
“We signed up for it,” said Semien. “When you’re playing baseball this late in the year, I mean, these are the most meaningful games of my life. And they’re the most meaningful games for our family. So it’s tough that I can’t be there, but Tarah is a competitor. She’s ready for me to have a good series here, get this win, and bring it back to Texas.”

She was born on March 28, 1990. Tarah played volleyball in high school and college, attending St. Mary’s High School, just like her husband, and earning a sociology degree from UC Berkeley.
During her time at UC Berkeley, Murrey played volleyball for Cuatto Giaveno Volley and Vaqueras de Bayamón.
She also won the Girls’ Youth NORCECA Volleyball Championship in 2006 and was named the Most Valuable Player.
From 2015 to 2016, Tarah Murrey coached the volleyball team at her former school.
Marcus Semien, a well-known baseball player, has played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, and Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball.
In 2021, he had a fantastic season, winning the Silver Slugger Award and the Gold Glove Award and making it to the All-Star Game for the first time in his career.
