Mai Mihara Illness – Mai Mihara is a Japanese competitive figure skater. She is the 2022 Grand Prix Final champion, two-time Four Continents champion (2017, 2022), 2018 Four Continents silver medalist, 2019 Four Continents bronze medalist, 2022 MK John Wilson Trophy champion, the 2022 Grand Prix of Espoo champion, and two-time Japanese national medalist (silver in 2022 and bronze in 2016).
She suffers from juvenile idiopathic arthritis, skating despite the disease.

Mai Mihara has been suffering from an illness named juvenile arthritis, a chronic disease, for many years. She was first diagnosed with this problem in December 2015.
The disease was seriously affecting her, threatening her career in figure skating as she was hospitalized two seasons earlier. But it seems she is slowly moving on from her condition and is currently back on the ice rink skating in several matches.

Mai Mihara Health Update 2023, What happened to Mai Mihara?
Mihara, who was born in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, on 22 August 1999, started her acting career at a very young age after watching Mao Asada’s figure skating performances on television during her alternate time at the abecedarian academy.

Mihara’s constancy to skating and her positive station towards her illness has earned her important respect in the skating community. She graduated from Ashiya High School in 2018 and latterly attained an undergraduate degree at Konan University in 2022.
Throughout her career, Mihara has been open about her struggles with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which causes inflammation in the joints and can be extremely painful.
Despite her illness, Mihara has managed to achieve great success in figure skating, getting the Four mainlands champion in 2017 while groaning to Cinderella. Her performance was so emotional that she earned the nickname” Cinderella on Ice.”
In 2017, She signed a cooperation agreement with Sysmex, a Japanese company involved with healthcare and the creation of healthy cultures.
Mai Mihara was diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis, which causes joint swelling and stiffness, and was hospitalized for two weeks. She has bestowed her hair three times as of 2022 towards the creation of hairpieces for individuals who have lost hair due to accidents or medical conditions similar to alopecia.
