Who was Kavita Chaudhary?
Kavita Chaudhary passed away in Amritsar at the age of 67 after suffering from a heart attack on 15 February 2024. Her death was confirmed by her nephew Ajay Sayal. Kavita was famous for the role of Kalyani Singh in the 1989 TV show Udaan. Her funeral service was held on 16 February 2024.
Kavita’s nephew Ajay said,
“She died due to cardiac arrest on Thursday at 8.30 pm. She breathed her last at Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar, where she was being treated.”
The fans of Kavita Chaudhary know her for her role as IPS officer Kalyani Singh in the 1989 show Udaan. She played also the role of writer and director of the show. Kavita was inspired by the life of her sister Kanchan Chaudhary Bhattacharya who was the second IPS officer after Kiran Bedi.
Kavita was knwon as the symbol of women’s empowerment during that period becasue at that time there were few female IPS officers depicted in movies and television. She produced TV shows such as Your Honour and IPS Diaries.
She was also known for her role as Lalitaji in the iconic Surf ads during the 1980s and 1990s. The character Lalitaji is a savvy homemaker who is careful with her finances and consistently makes wise decisions.

Kavita Chaudhary was an Indian actress, producer, and director. She was born on 25 July 1957 in India to Madan Mohan Chaudhary (Father) and Leela Devi (Mother). She belonged to the Leo zodiac sign and attended the National School of Drama in New Delhi.

Kavita Chaudhary followed the Hindusim religion. She worked for the TV sereis “Your Honour” which aired on DD National in the lead role of Kaushalya. She anchored the crime-based TV show ‘IPS Diaries” which was aired in 2015 on DD National.
Kavita Chaudhary appeaed as Beeji in the web sreis “Karrle Tu Bhi Mohabbat” in 2017. The sereis was premiered on the OTT platforms ALT Balaji and ZEE5.
She also appeared in the film ‘Ek Aur Suhagan’ in 1990. She performed in the play ‘Pagal Khana’.
Kavita Chaudhary passed away at the Parvati Devi Hospital in Amritsar on 15 February 2024 due to cardiac arrest. She had suffered from cancer for a few years.
