In June 2022, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office arrested Crystal Smith for allegedly tampering with evidence. She surrendered herself to the custody of the Sheriff’s Office after being spotted on surveillance video washing her son’s jeans. The jeans later tested positive for blood, leading to speculation about their involvement in the murder.

Jason Fucci has a prior history of legal issues. Specifically, in 2003 he faced allegations of child abuse, injury, and neglect. Later that same year, in October, he was taken into custody for participating in sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl at his residence.

Subsequently, in 2004, he was convicted of child abuse charges and received a prison sentence of one year and two months.

He was also found guilty of engaging in sexual activity and was sentenced to two years of probation. In 2016, he was arrested again for battery following a fight at a gas station, with his son present.

Aiden Fucci: How Much Prison Time is He Facing?

Aiden Fucci, charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Tristyn Bailey, is expected to be sentenced on the week of March 21, 2023. The grand jury met in secret in May 2021, and the decision to charge Fucci as an adult came from the grand jury.

According to the State Attorney, if Fucci is given a life sentence, he will be able to request a review when he turns 25 since he is currently a minor. Furthermore, he may receive special considerations or adjustments because of his age at the time of the crime and sentencing.

In February 2023, Fucci altered his plea to guilty for the charge of first-degree murder and expressed remorse in court.

Crystal Smith’s involvement in the case has also raised questions about her role in the murder. Some speculate that she helped her son cover up the crime, while others believe she may have played a more active role in the murder.

Jason Fucci’s criminal history raises concerns about the environment in which Aiden Fucci was raised. The repeated incidents of abuse, neglect, and sexual misconduct suggest a pattern of behavior that may have influenced Aiden’s actions.
