Hunter Schafer is a transgender model who was diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria while she was in ninth standard. Undergoing surgery was not her first step as Hunter started treatment even before she hit puberty with the help of hormone blockers.

As a result, after she turned 18, she underwent gender reassignment surgery. She was treated for the infection by endocrinologist Deanna Adkins at Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center.
