The former host lost both her mother and father to a degenerative illness. Speaking of her bombshell diagnosis, she explains,
“I just felt more angry than anything else because this disease has already impacted my life in so many ways; my poor mum was crippled with it, then my dad, my grandparents, my uncle.”

Amy served as a nurse, and after that, she was working in a department store and began developing the early onset of the condition at the young age of 53. Later, in 2006, she passed away tragically in aged 74.
Whereas Phillip was found to have the same health condition and issues in his early 60s, and he died in 2012, aged 76, after spending the last time of his life in a warden-assisted flat, before going to a psychiatric hospital.
