Artist Namboothiri was born on 13 September 1925 to Parameswaran Namboothiri and Sreedevi Antharjanam of Karuvattillam, Ponnani in Malappuram district.
He studied painting at the Fine Arts College, Chennai. He started to contribute his art to Mathrubhumi Weekly, Kala Kaumudi, and Samakalika Malayalam in 1960.
