Aleasha Sullivan was a 32-year-old mother who was found dead along with her boyfriend Joshua Sandercock at her home.
A young Devon couple (Aleasha and Joshua) were found dead at home by police. According to the police, they both died of different natural causes.
It was believed that Joshua was arrested for assaulting Aleasha. he had been served with a domestic violence protection order and banned him from contact with her. Aleasha was born in Torquay.
She was 32 years old whereas Joshua was 30 years old when they died. Joshua was born in Exeter and he was unemployed.

After they discovered their bodies at her flat in Hocombe on 21 October 2021, major crime investing was started.
According to the post-mortem examination, there was no evidence that described the connection between the two deaths.
However, they died at the same time in the same place. After a welfare concern was raised by Aleasha’s support worker, Police were called to her home after being notified that she had not been seen since 12 October 2021. She was reported missing at the police station on 21 October 2021.
Police reached her home and saw through the letterbox a body against the door. It was found to be Aleasha who had been dead for several days. Police found another dead body of Joshua in the living room upstairs.
On 20 April 2023, An inquest at Plymouth Coroners Court heard police initially treated their death as a potential crime scene until their body’s medical examinations revealed they passed away due to natural causes.
Home Office forensic pathologist Dr. Deboarah Cook revealed that Aleasha passed away due to pulmonary thromboembolism (a blood clot n her lungs).
Needle marks were found on her body that confirmed that she took heroin sometime prior to her death and the heroin level detected at the time of the post-mortem was not associated with fatalities.

Assistant coroner for South Devon Mike Bird Said,
‘I can imagine as a family it is quite a surprising conclusion considering where the investigation started and two people having been found on the same premises at the same time.’
‘The initial and natural speculation was that the two deaths were linked but after that detailed investigation there is no evidence to suggest Aleasha died from anything other than a wholly natural cause..’
Medical records of Aleasha revealed a history of drug dependency, clotting problems in her legs, and mental health which can be made worse through intravenous drug use.
Aleasha moved to Hocombe in August 2021 and she was last seen at the surgery that month. She reported not having used illicit drugs in over 12 months. Her prescribing doctor said in a statement,
‘She was a very traumatized person but I had genuine hope for her and thought she was heading in a better direction.’
Her support worker reported the police,
‘In the last meeting, she was very much focused on the future and a fresh start. She wore her heart on her sleeve and was just full of character.’
Her boyfriend Joshua Sandercock passed away lying on his back on the sofa in Aleasha’s living room because of pneumonia.
Pathologist Dr. Cook said,
‘The methadone may have tipped the balance in a man suffering pneumonia to result in a respiratory compromise that resulted in death.’
