59-year-old veteran car racer KE Kumar has died after meeting with a horrific crash. The accident occurred on Sunday, January 8, 2023, at the MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Car Racing Championship at the Madras International Circuit in Irungatukottai, outside Tamil Nadu’s Chennai. It is reported that the fatal accident happened when Kumar’s car came in contact with a competitor during the saloon car race this morning. A video clip from the event has surfaced online that shows Kumar’s speeding car sliding off the track after it reportedly made contact with the front of another car from his left side. It resulted in Kumar’s car crashing into the trees at the boundary fence. The crash was so impactful that the parts of the car were seen falling off. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the car race was immediately stopped.

It is no doubt to say that KE Kumar sustained multiple life-threatening injuries in the tragic car crash that eventually claimed his life at such a mere age. Reports confirm that Kumar was immediately extricated from the car and was rushed to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. Before heading to the hospital, he even went through an initial checkup at the track’s medical center. Despite being provided with the best possible medical care and facility, the racer could not be saved.
Sadly, Kumar succumbed to his injuries and left all his loved ones and dear ones in nothing but profound grief and sorrow. Following the announcement of the news of his tragic passing, netizens paid tributes to him. Vicky Chandhok, Chairman of the Meet, called the most unfortunate incident and added that Kumar was an experienced racer. Adding further, the chairman said that he has known him for several decades as a friend and a competitor and that the MMSC and the entire racing fraternity his mourning his unfortunate death.
No one seems to believe the news that the beloved racer has taken his last breath. Vicky Chandhok offered his deepest condolences to his family and loved ones in this extremely difficult time.
