Lepowura Jawula has died. He was the ex-president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA). It is reported that Lepowura took his last breath on Sunday, January 22, 2023. According to reports, the veteran football administration had been ill for some time. He was reportedly getting treatment from a reputed hospital. However, it did not help him recover and despite receiving the best medical care and facility, he could not recover and succumbed to his illness. Reports confirm that Lepowura was earlier admitted to the University of Ghana Medical Centre before being flown out to the United States of America last week for further treatment where he sadly passed on. Taking to Twitter, Ghana Football Association wrote that they are saddened by the news of Lepowura MND Jawula’s death. They went on to write that Alhaji was a Chairman of the GFA from 1997-2001. He was Chairman of the Organizing Committee until his death. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who knew him, added the association. The post soon got flooded with numerous RIP messages and tributary posts. It is no doubt to say a lot of people have gotten saddened to learn about his demise. The late sports enthusiast was the GFA Chairman between 1997 and 2001.
