After creating a rampage at the box office at the time of its release, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha is all set to make a comeback with its sequel titled “Gadar 2”. The period romantic partition set love story featured Sunny Deol and Amisha Patel in the lead role when it was released back in June 2001. As everyone remembers, the movie had done amazing business at the box office. Yes, the film did a business of around Rs 133 crores which is equivalent to Rs 500 crores approx, inflation-adjusted. The movie’s sequel was announced in October 2021, after a total of 20 years which itself speaks volumes about its popularity. Reports confirm that the first schedule of shooting started on December 1, 2021, at Palampur, Himachal Pradesh. In 2021, it was wrapped up in the last week of December month and the last leg of the shooting was completed in December 2022. Let us tell you that Gadar 2 will see Sunny Deol in the role of legendary Tara Singh. In the first part, the movie showed how Singh crossed the border so that he can bring his wife Sakeena, played by Ameesha Patel.

Gadar 2 Release Date
Zee Studios recently shared its 2023 movie lineup video. It went on to reveal the first look of popular actor Sunny Deol from the movie and how will he look in the film. Let us tell you that the Studios shared a 50-sec video clip that shows Deol lifting a cartwheel to fight baddies. However, the movie landed in controversies even before its release as earlier around 150 junior artists made a ruckus as they claimed that they did not get their fees. It happened when the team was shooting for the climax scene in Lucknow.
Reports claimed that the movie’s director Anil Sharma said that they only needed 10-15 people and that they had no idea from where these many people come. According to the director, the matter was sorted out within minutes. Talking about the cast, Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel will be seen reprising their roles along with Utkarsh Sharma who played the role of Jeete. Other actors will also be a crucial part of the film. Well, the trailer of the film is expected to premiere in February while Gadar 2 is likely to hit the theatres in August 2023.
