Taking to Instagram on Sunday, January 1, 2022, Fred White’s brother and bandmate, Verdine White wrote that their family is saddened by the loss of an amazing and talented family member, their beloved brother. Apart from sharing the devastating piece of news, Verdine did not share any details regarding his cause of death. Due to this reason, how did Fred White die and what happened to him remains unknown? It is no doubt to say that his death has shaken a large section of people to the core. No one is able to believe what just happened to the beloved drummer.

Who Was Fred White?
Born in 1955 in Chicago, Fred White belonged to a family of musicians. His brothers include Verdine and Maurice White have been very supportive of Fred and have always showered their love and support on him. As per sources, Fred showed talent at the drums at a very young age. According to Verdine, Fred even attained success while he was still a teenager. Writing further in the Instagram post, Verdine wrote that at home and beyond, he was the wonderful brother who was always entertaining and delightfully mischievous. He added that they could always count on him to make a seemingly bad situation more light-hearted.
Later in 1970, Maurice found Earth, Wind, & Fire after moving to Los Angeles and Verdine also ended up joining the band sometimes later. After passing a few years, they managed to convince their younger brother to join the band as a primary drummer. Through the mid-1980s, Fred played the drums for the funk-soul-disco-R&B-fusion band. Needless to say, Fred’s tight and energetic beats made up the backbone of hits like “Shining Star” and “Let’s Groove”.
