She studied acting at the National School o Drama(NSD), Delhi under Ebrahim Alkazi graduating in 1968. Uttara Baolkar achieved and won so many awards including Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1984 and National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1988.
