According to Tehran, drones attacked a military plant in Iran’s central city of Isfahan on Sunday, January 29, 2023. Speaking of the same, Mohammad Reza Jan-Nesari, the deputy head of security for Isfahan governorate, said that the explosion occurred in one of the military centers affiliated to the Ministry of Defense. Adding further, he said that the explosion indeed damaged things but fortunately there were no casualties. Taking to Twitter, IRNA shared a post where they said that there was an unsuccessful attack by small drones against a defense ministry industrial complex. The post further said that they have done the predictions and air defense arrangements which resulted in the situation not getting out of control. The good thing that was shared was that no individual was harmed in the attack and everyone happens to be safe. IRNA went on to write that the air defense system of the complex was able to destroy two other drones and that the attack killed no one. It was also said that only minor damage was sustained to the roof of the complex.

Reports have been claiming that the shocking attack took place at around 10:30 PM local time. The place where the incident happened is the plant which is located about 440 kilometers (270 miles) south of Tehran. Well, it is not the first time when such kind of incident has happened as in the past few years, several explosions and suspicious fires have happened around Iranian military and nuclear facilities. Back in 2020, a fire broke out through the Iranian Natanz nuclear complex. However, the Iranian authorities did not disclose the cause of the fire due to security concerns.
Later that year, a blackout occurred in Natanz on the anniversary of National Nuclear Day with Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization (AEOI) calling it a “terrorist action”. It was said that there was Israeli involvement in the attack. Back in 2019, an oil tanker that belonged to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) was hit and damaged by two missiles. It is no doubt to say that such type of incidents has been happening in the country for several years.
