She was born on 23 January 1948 in Oakland, California, and raised with her sisters and sang in their father’s church. In the McRae High School band in the tenth grade, she sang alto sax. To create the POINTER SISTERS with her sisters Bonnie, June, and Ruth, and for this, she left her post as a secretary in 1969.
She and her sister wrote a Fairytale from the 1974 albums which are full of plenty. The Pointers Sisters were honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and three Grammy Awards which was great moments in her life in 1994.
