George Lazenby was dubbed by his co-star George Baker in his only appearance as James Bond.
George Lazenby is an Australian actor and the second actor to portray British secret agent James Bond by playing the character in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
However, he appeared in only one Bond film, making the shortest tenure among the actors in the series.
Lazenby declined to return in subsequent Bond films, instead starring in other films like Universal Soldier, The Shrine of Ultimate Bliss, The Man from Hong Kong, and The Kentucky Fried Movie.
After his acting career stalled, he moved into business and real estate investments.
Lazenby started his career as a model and landed the role to replace original Bond actor Sean Connery.

Was George Lazenby Dubbed – Where Is He Now?
Albert R. Broccoli met George Lazenby for the first time when they went for a haircut at the same barbershop.
In 1968, after Sean Connery had left the role of James Bond, the producer invited Lazenby to do a screen test after seeing him again in the Big Fry commercial and thinking he could be a Bond.
During the film’s production, his voice was dubbed over by George Baker in scenes where Bond impersonated Sir Hilary Bray (Baker’s character).
It was not typically done with a leading actor whose original language is English.
Lazenby was reportedly hurt that he was underplaying the role at most times and that his voice was dubbed for half the film.

Baker was a British actor who played several characters in the Bond film franchise, including an uncredited appearance as a NASA engineer in You Only Live Twice and Captain Benson in The Spy Who Loved Me.
The actor passed away on October 7, 2011, with his last on-screen appearance in the comedy-drama series New Tricks.

As for Lazenby, the 83-year-old currently lives in Brentwood. His last appearance was that of ‘G’ in In the Blink of an Eye (2021).
George Lazenby Came From A Humble Family Background
George Robert Lazenby was born at Ovada Private Hospital in Goulburn, New South Wales, Australia, to his parents, George Edward Lazenby and Sheila Joan Lazenby (née Bodel).
His father was a railway worker, whereas his mother worked at a Fossey’s retail store.
The Australian actor has one sibling, a sister named Barbara, who is an accomplished dancer.
Lazenby attended Goulburn Public School in his primary years and subsequently went to Goulburn High School until 1954.
When he was around, his family moved from Goulburn to Queanbeyan, where his dad ran a store. He served in the Australian Army, worked as a car salesman, and then as a mechanic.
When he was young, Lazenby had a major operation that kept him in hospital for 18 months and left him with only half a kidney.
George Lazenby Has Been Married Twice With Five Kids
George Lazenby had dated Chrissie Townson for three years before he married her in 1973. Townson is a member of the Gannett family.
The pair had two children, a son Zachary and a daughter Melanie. The latter became a real estate broker in New York.
Zachary, diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at 11, died at 19.

After his marriage with Townson ended in 1995, Lazenby married former tennis player Pam Shriver in 2002.
The couple has three children, 19-year-old son George, Jr., and 18-year-old twins, Kate and Sam.
The marriage ended again as Shriver reportedly filed for divorce from Lazenby in August 2008, citing “irreconcilable differences” for the end of their six-year marriage. The divorce was finalized in May 2011.
