Early Life and Education

Speaking about her early life, Tamala Jones was raised with her sisters Craig Jones and Tracey Cherelle Jones,  and where she attended Marshall Fundamental Secondary School, after which she matriculated from John Marshall High School, together with her classmates Jaleel While, a future actor, and Lark Vorhess, an aspiring actress. After high school, she attended Pasadena City College.

Prior to becoming an actress, Tamala worked as a model, appearing in various magazines and television commercials, including an IBM national commercial in 1989.
