Dog the Bounty Hunter

The series focuses on Lyssa’s father in his work as a bounty hunter. The show is often filmed in Hawaii or Colorado which is Dog’s home state, though there are a few exceptions. The show is a spin-off from his appearance in another show called “Take This Job”, which is about unusual occupations. The show found popularity thanks to the interaction of Dog and his family, who are also his team since all of them are licensed for the work. They go on to track and arrest people who’ve broken their bail agreement, and they also try to counsel them to change their ways. Lyssa started appearing as a regular cast member of the show, staying with the show for its entire run except for the first season.

The show featured her training as a licensed bounty hunter and bail bondswoman, and also tackled various high profile arrests and major events that happened with the family, including the death of Dog’s oldest daughter; even Lyssa’s wedding was covered in the show. The fourth season of the series took a hiatus due to a racism issue with one of the cast members, Duane Chapman. The sixth season had an alleged shooting incident which led to a lot of speculation and lawsuits. The family were said to be shot by a targeted person, though there was not enough evidence to back this claim.

After Dog the Bounty Hunter

The show would run for eight seasons with Lyssa working as a regular cast member for seven, until ending with its final episode airing in 2012. It was not the end for Lyssa’s father, however, as he created a spin-off show called “Dog and Beth: On the Hunt” for the CMT television network, which would run from 2014 until the two decided to leave the network in 2016.

Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Chapman has two children, the first of whom was born shortly after her 15th birthday. She later had another child from a father who was 24 years old at the time of conception, and who was later arrested for statutory rape.

However, in 2011 Chapman filed for divorce, and a month after filing, she was arrested for assaulting a police officer as well as criminal property damage. In 2013, she released an autobiography called “Walking on Eggshells: Discovering Strength and Courage Amid Chaos” which was co-authored by Lisa Wysocky. In 2018, it was reported that she is now focused on a tanning salon business, and is engaged to her business partner Leiana Evensen, without any details being released. Perhaps Lyssa has finally sorted-out her sexuality? As to any presence on social media web sites, they appear to be devoid of any contribution from Lyssa.
