Kasie’s career in journalism started while she was still a student, when she began her internship in one of the NBC News’ political units. Later, in 2010 she landed a job at the National Journal, where she was a health policy reporter for its “Congress Daily” publication focused on Capitol Hill’s inner working, primarily focusing on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (popularly called “Obamacare”). Apart from these, in 2010 Kasie Hunt also covered the mid-term elections as the Politico’s correspondent.

In August 2011, Hunt joined the Associated Press where as its national political reporter, she was in charge of covering the 2012 Mitt Romney candidacy for the Presidency of the United States. In the course of the next several months, Kasie honed her reporting skills, and in January 2013 transferred to NBC News, not only as its off-air reporter, but as a producer as well, covering topics such as politics and the Congress. In 2014 Hunt joined the MSNBC, where she regularly featured as its political reporter, while in November that year, she was named as the MSNBC’s political correspondent. Kasie Hunt is also regularly contributing to msnbc.com, and occasionally appears on its talk shows such as the “Hardball with Chris Matthews”, NBC News’ “Morning Joe” as well as in Bloomberg Television’s broadcast “With All Due Respect”.
