Who is Shane Kilcher?

Shane Kilcher was born on the 5^th May 1971m in Idaho, USA of part-Swiss ancestry. He is a reality television personality, who is probably best recognized for being one of the main cast in the popular reality TV series entitled “Alaska: The Last Frontier” (2011-present), which airs on the Discovery Channel.

Early Life, Siblings and Education

He was born to Atz Kilcher, a television host and musician, and Lenedra J. Carroll, a well-known singer and author, while both of them attended college in Idaho. Afterwards, the family moved to the wilderness of Alaska, where he was raised along with his brothers – the famous singer Jewel, Atz Lee Kilcher, and the half-brother of Nikos Kilcher. During his childhood, the family lived in a homestead, and he learned various skills which would help him to survive and live in the sometimes severe environment. To talk about his education, Shane went to Steller Secondary School, after which he attended Homer High School as well as Homer Senior High School. While in there, he joined the Volleyball team Alaska Anchorage Seawolves, and participated with them in several tournaments.

Accident and Injury

In December of 2017, Shane Kilcher was involved in a horrific accident, while he was fixing his and Kelli’s new homestead. He fell from the ladder and broke his back, actually a deep fracture of his L2 vertebra, so he had to spend some time in Central Peninsula Hospital Alaska in recovery, and he is currently doing OK.

Speaking about his personal life, Shane Kilcher met his future wife Kelli Ware when both of them were seniors in high school; the couple started dating and eventually married in June 1992. After marriage, Shane decided to support her further education, so she enrolled in Maric College, California, from which she graduated with a degree in Nursing, after which she started working at the South Peninsula Hospital in Homer, Alaska.

Shane and Kelli’s children – we can conclude that they are very happy couple as they are blessed with four children – three sons, Jareth, Keena Tarik and Reid Kilcher, and a daughter named Jenna Kilcher. All of them appear in the show.
