He is a drag queen, probably best recognized for competing in the seventh season of the reality competition series “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. He is also known as a country singer, who released the studio album “Two Birds”.
Early Life and Education
Trixie Mattel spent his childhood in a poor family in his hometown, where he attended high school. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee to study Musical Theatre, where he first became interested in drag when he was a member of the production “The Rocky Horror Show” at the Oriental Theatre.
RuPaul’s Drag Race
Trixie’s professional drag career really began in 2008, when he made his drag debut appearance under the stage name Trixie Mattel at LaCage NiteClub in Milwaukee. As his popularity grew, he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where in 2014, he decided to enroll at The Institute of Beauty and Wellness, but quit in the following year. Although he was eliminated in the fourth episode, he returned to the show in the eighth episode, finishing in sixth place. Parallel with that, he also participated in another reality competition series, entitled “RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked!”. Moreover, it’s been announced that he will appear in the third season of the show “RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars”, which will be aired from late 2018.

Web Series
In addition to his career as a drag performer, Trixie also became active on YouTube, co-creating the web series “UNHhhh”, along with Katya Zamolodchikova, another drag performer whose real name is Brian Joseph, which was aired on WOWPresents. They also worked together on Viceland’s web show “The Trixie & Katya Show”, which was aired in November 2017. Moreover, the two of them appeared in the drag stage adaptation of the film “Romy And Michele’s High School Reunion” (1997), which was renamed “Trixie And Katya’s High School Reunion”.

Musical Career
Apart from his career in the entertainment industry, Trixie Mattel also tried himself as a country singer, releasing his debut EP “Greener” in 2009. After that, he also released the non-album single “You Belong To Me”, before in May 2017 coming out with his debut studio album entitled “Two Birds”, and Trixie has recently released his second studio album – “One Stone” – in March of 2018. He also released the EP “Homemade Christmas” in 2017, as well as two singles, “Drag Up Your Life” and “Kitty Girl”, both in 2018, alongside BeBe Zahara Benet, Shangela and Kennedy Davenport.
