The daughter of Paul Melas and Elizabeth Murphy Melas, Chloe spent her childhood in Atlanta, but then moved to Dallas, Texas with her parents. She went to Episcopal School of Dallas, and upon matriculation enrolled at Auburn University, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Radio, Television and Film.
Career Beginnings
Chloe started her climb in the corporate world by joining CNN as a news assistant, however, after less than a year she left her post and launched the HollywoodLife.com portal, with the help of Bonnie Fuller. She was named Senior Entertainment Reporter for the site, and so continued to improve her journalistic skills. The following year, Chloe became a part of the New York City’s WNYW television station, by hosting her own weekend entertainment segment. Nothing could stop Chloe now, and she would work for several television stations in the next few years before joining CNN full-time. She was a part of the Penske Media Corporation’s ENTV, through which she covered sports events for ION, Yahoo! and Vodaphone.
Rise to Prominence
In 2013, Chloe joined VH1, and was assigned to the morning show “The Gossip Table”, which aired for two years and four seasons before its cancelation in 2015. It was in 2016 that Chloe joined CNN and became its reporter for the media and entertainment group. Gradually her name was becoming more popular, which resulted in her being recruited by several other prominent networks. Since then, she has appeared in “Fox & Friends”, “The Wendy Williams Show”, “The Today Show”, “The Insider”, and “HLN”, among many others. In May 2018, Chloe and An Phung, deputy editor of CNN media and entertainment, wrote about Morgan Freeman’s inappropriate behavior and harassment towards 14 women and even two men. Morgan himself responded to the claims with an apology, saying that he often tends to joke and compliment which some might find odd or inappropriate. The entire case reached Freeman’s lawyer, who asked CNN’s president, Jeff Zucker, for an apology and a retraction of the published post.
