Who is Aisha Hinds?
Born Aisha Jamila Hinds on the 13th November 1975, in Brooklyn, New York City USA, she is a stage, television and film actress, best known to the world as Carolyn Hill in the TV sci-fi drama series “Under the Dome” (2013-2015), and as Miss Jeanette in the fantasy drama series “True Blood” from 2008 to 2010, among many other differing roles she has secured so far in her career.
Aisha Hinds Bio: Early Life, Brother, Parents, and Education
Aisha grew up in Brooklyn, but there is no information about the identity of her parents and her siblings. She was drawn to performing arts from an early age, starting with tap dancing in her junior high school, but once her teacher noticed her talents needed new ways of expression, Aisha received advice to study at the New York School for Performing Arts, which is exactly what she did. There, her first steps towards an acting career began, and once she graduated, Aisha was ready to pursue an acting career.

Career Beginnings
Aisha’s on-screen career started in 2003 with a minor role in the TV series “NYPD Blue”, and then after few more minor roles, she had her first recurring role as Annie Price in the TV crime-drama series “The Shield”, which pushed her just enough to get the role of Anna in the highly-acclaimed action film “Assault on Precinct 13”, with Ethan Hawke, Laurence Fishburne and Gabriel Byrne in the lead roles. This was the first notable role for our Aisha and, encouraged by this success, she continued with film roles, while also securing the recurring part of Mona Gomez in the TV series “Invasion”, and two years later, she had a supporting role in the crime-drama thriller film “Mr. Brooks”, with Kevin Costner, Demi Moore and William Hurt.

Rise to Prominence
After that, Aisha became more focused on television roles, and it turned out to be a smart career move since she earned a reputation for portraying a variety of characters in TV series. From 2008 to 2010 she was Miss Jeanette in the highly-acclaimed fantasy drama series “True Blood”, and though she featured in only 8 episodes, it became one of her most prominent roles. Then from 2010 to 2012, she played Lieutenant Maureen Mason in the drama series “Detroit 1-8-7”, after which she secured another notable role, as Carolyn Hill in the Steven Spielberg book-based series “Under the Dome” (2013-2015), which launched her to stardom.

Debut As Harriet Tubman
Following the end of the first season of the extremely popular historical drama series “Underground”, Aisha was announced as the new Harriet Tubman, who had appeared in the last episode of the first season. Although played by a different actress, the producers didn’t have problems with replacing her with Aisha, and has since featured in seven episodes of the series, portraying Harriet who tries to free her family from slavery, after her own escape.

Career In Recent Years
In addition, Aisha can be seen in other projects, including the TV crime drama series “Shots Fired”, as Pastor Janae James, then as a recurring character, Violetta Wallace in the new TV crime-drama series “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.”, with Marcc Rosse and Wavyy Jonez as the legendary rappers. Also, she became even more popular when she was chosen for the part of Henrietta ‘Hen’ Wilson in the TV drama series “9-1-1”.
