Hosting Work

2003 marked the start of his prominent hosting career, when he became the host of the show “Weird Travels”. The paranormal documentary series features various paranormal subjects around the world, including haunted locations and cryptozoological creatures. The show would run for a season of 26 episodes, which was aired from 2001 to 2006. Some of the topics of the show included Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, the mysterious Nazca and Mayan civilizations, the legend of the Holy Grail, and UFO crop circles.

During this run in the show, he also appeared in two episodes of the soap opera “Passions”, and after a few minor projects, Wildman then became the host of 2008’s “Cities of the Underworld”, which is a documentary series aired on the History channel showcasing the subterranean culture and environment of various civilizations, initially hosted by Eric Geller before Wildman took over. Some of the places featured in the show include Naples in Italy, Bucharest in Romania, Prague in the Czech Republic, Chicago in the United States, and Jerusalem in Israel. The show ran for two seasons, and he would then move on to his next project which is “Off Limits”, aired from 2011 to 2013 on the Travel Channel, and aimed to reveal secrets of unexplored areas in various locations around the world.

Don is currently the host of three series, the first of which started in 2010 entitled “Mysteries at the Museum”, which focuses on museum artifacts with mysterious or unusual origins, and during its run of 19 season sas of 2018, has included artifacts such as the Mona Lisa, the Bonnie & Clyde rifle, the USS Intrepid, the Hope Diamond, and the Willamette Meteorite. In recent years, he’s covered Billaird Balls, the Legend of Zorro, the Doughnut, and the FDR Assassination.

In 2012, Don started hosting the self-explanatory “Filthy Cities”, and the following year became the host of “Mysteries at the Monument” on the Travel Channel, which showcases unsolved mysteries and historical stories behind the national monuments in the US, including the Hollywood Sign, a tombstone linked to the Mercy Brown Vampire Incident, the Miraculous Stairs in New Mexico, Half Dome in Yosemite National Park, and the Rocky Balboa Statue. The show subsequently expanded to other locations such as in London, England.

Personal Life, Incidents

For his personal life, it is known that Don is married to Melissa Haizlip, though no details about their relationship or marriage have been shared with the public, except that they are resident in Los Angeles, California. He mentioned in an interview that he is an avid scuba diver, and is also working towards getting a small-craft pilot’s license. He broke his collarbone once, while filming for the show “Men’s Journal”, and was in an accident while mountain biking down the Devil’s Staircase located in Sedona, Arizona.
