Daniel Lissing was born on 4 October 1981, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and is an actor, best known for being a part of the series “Crownies” in which he played the role of Conrad De Groot. He was also in the TV drama series “Last Resort”.

Over the next few years, Daniel would become a part of several short films including “Whiteline”, “Multiple Choice”, and “The Game”. He also continued to make guest appearances in television shows such as “Packed to the Rafters”, “Underbelly: A Tale of Two Cities”, and “Out of the Blue”.
Acting Prominence
In 2011, he was cast in one of his most notable, recurring roles as Conrad, in the series “Crownies”. Lissing had the role of the fiancé of lawyer Tatum Novak played by Indiana Evans and he would stay with the show until the end of its run in the same year. The series focused on a group of solicitors fresh from law school, who started working with the public Crown Prosecutors. During the same year, he appeared in the film entitled “Entwined”, in the role of Aiden, and the following year was cast in an American series entitled “Last Resort”, in which he would play the role of Navy SEAL, US Navy Petty Officer James King. The military drama series also starred Scott Speedman, Andre Braugher and Autumn Reeser.

In 2014, he starred in the film “The Cure” alongside Antonia Prebble, in the story which focuses on a research scientist who discovers that the company she has been working for developed a cure for cancer. Lissing played a member of the research team who feels that he deserves more recognition.

When Calls the Heart and Other Projects
Also in 2014 he was cast in the Hallmark Channel series entitled “When Calls the Heart”, and stayed with the series for four years playing the role of Canadian Mountie Jack Thornton. The series is based on the book of the same name written by Jannete Oke which is a part of her “Canadian West” series. While a part of the show, he continued to have other television projects, appeaing in the television series “Eye Candy”, and in a recurring role in “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce” playing the role of Payton. Daniel was also cast in the Hallmark film entitled “A December Bride”, appearing alongside Jessica Lowndes.
In 2017, he had two television projects, namely in “Timeless” which is a science fiction series in which the main characters are trying to stop a mysterious organization from changing the course of history through time travel. He also appeared in “Blindspot”, a television series aired on NBC.
Personal Life
Many fans have linked Lissing romantically with “When Calls the Heart” co-star Erin Krakow due to them being an onscreen couple. The rumors of them having a real-life romance were even fueled by them posting pictures of themselves together on social media.

In order to let the rumors die down, Daniel posted a picture of his actual real life girlfriend, Melissa Miller, on social media, who is a real estate agent based in Los Angeles and is known for building her own business centered in the area. She holds a master’s degree in communication, and is known to have one of the faster growing real estate businesses in Los Angeles. She has also posted various pictures on social media of her being with Lissing on several occasions.
