The Wealth of Lucinda Dickey

How rich is Lucinda Dickey? As of late-2018, sources inform us of a net worth that is over $2 million, earned through a successful career in acting. She has had numerous other film and television projects throughout her career, and as she continues her endeavors it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.

Early Life, Education, and Career Beginnings

Lucinda grew up in Hutchinson, and at a young age discovered her passion for dancing – at four years of age, she was already taking dancing lessons. After matriculating from high school, she enrolled at Kansas State University majoring in dance. During her time there, she competed in the Miss Kansas pageant, achieving a third runner-up finish, winning the talent portion of the competition. After completing her studies, she moved to Los Angeles and on a dance scholarship with the Roland Dupree Dance Academy which is very popular for dancers because of its connection with the entertainment industry. After 10 months with the school, she was cast in the musical film entitled “Grease 2”, the sequel to “Grease” which is based on the stage musical of the same name, which takes place two years after the original film with an almost entirely new cast. It is known as Michelle Pfieffer’s breakout role, but other than that, the film was poorly received.

Career Prominence

During the same year, Dickey was cast as a dancer in the series “Solid Gold”; the musical television series had mixed reviews throughout its run, but she was only a part of the show for one season. In 1984, she had one of her most notable roles in the film “Breakin’”, playing a jazz dancer turned breakdancer. The film was inspired by the documentary entitled “Breakin’ and Enterin” and is set in a multi-racial hip hop club. The film was financially successful, but reviews were generally mixed. Despite that, the film would reach cult status as years passed, partly as it featured the first film appearance by Ice T.

She followed up her performance in the first film with the sequel “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo”, released just seven months after its predecessor. The film had generally negative reviews, but another sequel was set up, but featured different characters. Dickey’s next project would be the action horror film “Ninja III: The Domination”, an anthology series and another film by Cannon which also produced “Breakin’”.

Three years later, she would have her last acting role in the television movie entitled “Perry Mason: The Case of the Defiant Daughter”, after which she decided to retire from acting as she married, and decided to focus on her marriage as well as starting a family.

She stayed off the radar for many years, but would later make an appearance in the 2008 series entitled “Master of Dance” airing on TLC, as one of the judges of the show, a reality competition series which aired for seven episodes before getting cancelled due to poor reviews. Since then, there hasn’t been any public information about her endeavors as she has taken a step back from the spotlight.

Personal Life

For her personal life, it is known that Dickey married executive producer Craig Piligian in 1990, and they have two children together. Craig is best known for being the executive producer of numerous popular shows with Discovery Channel including “American Chopper” and “Dirty Jobs”. He is also the creator of “The Ultimate Fighter” and attracted a lot of attention as the co-executive producer of the reality TV series “Survivor”, for which he won an Emmy Award.  The show follows a group of contestants who are marooned in an isolated location where they must complete challenges to try and avoid elimination, with the sole survivor at the end of a season awarded a grand prize. While her husband continues to stay active in the entertainment industry, she has remained in the background for most of her life since retiring from acting.
