Personal Life of Hoda Kotb
Kotb was raised in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Alexandria, Virginia, after being born in Norman, Oklahoma. She spent the whole 1990s residing in New Orleans.
Egyptians are the parents of Kotb. Kotb and her family resided in Nigeria and Egypt for a year. She has a sister named Hala and a brother named Adel.
Sameha (“Sami”), her mother, was employed by the Library of Congress. Abdel Kader Kotb, her Father, was an expert in fossil fuels and was included in the Who’s Who of Technology.
In 1986, he passed away at the age of 51. In an interview with the 92nd Street Y, Kotb alluded to her Muslim heritage when she talked of her yearly summer vacations in Egypt, her veiled cousins, and how her parents’ immigration to the U.S. had protected her from having to follow suit.
