Although a minor role, it was enough to secure her a first big project, the role of Billie Jo Bradley, the dimwitted blonde in the highly popular TV comedy series “Petticoat Junction”. She remained on the show for only one season, but it was enough to make her a star.

Although the role of Billie Jo Bradley celebrated her as an actress, she obtained world fame by being the host and singer in the show “Hee Haw”, from 1969 until 1992.
