Jonathan’s career started when he was only six years old, with the role of Spot in the TV series “The Adventures of Spot” in 1987. Three years later he was chosen for the part of Greg Brady in the TV series “The Bradys”, which was a spin-off of the highly popular ‘70s show “The Brady Bunch”. However, it was in 1991 that he got his first prominent role, as Randy Taylor in the sitcom “Home Improvement”, the series lasting from 1991 until 1999, making Jonathan a star, as the series became extremely popular, and for which he won a number of prestigious awards, including the Young Artist Award in 1994 in the category Outstanding Youth Ensemble in a Television Series, and the Kids’ Choice Blimp Award in the category for Favorite Television Actor in 1998. During this time Jonathan made several other successful appearances, including as Tom Sawyer in the film “Tom and Huck” in 1995, an adaptation of Mark Twain’s children’s book, then as Marshall in the film “Wild America” in 1997, and the lead role in the comedy film “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” in 1998.

With the start of the new millennium, Jonathan’s interest in acting began to fade, and in the next few years he only secured guest roles in such TV series as “8 Simple Rules” in 2004, then in “Veronica Mars” (2005), among others. After that, he took a break until 2013, when he returned with the double role of John Baker/Randy in the TV comedy series “Last Man Standing” (2013-2015), since when he has been away from the public eye.
