New Mexico State men’s basketball pro-Mike Peake became the buzzing topic after he was suspended indefinitely for his involvement in a shooting that resulted in the death.
Mike Peake is a New Mexico State college player who played as a forward representing his college.
The collegiate footballer has been suspended indefinitely for his role in the November shooting that killed a University of New Mexico student. Following UNM Shooting, The Sun-News has confirmed Mike Peake, a junior forward on the NMSU basketball payer’s involvement, was observed during the investigation.
Mike is the NMSU basketball team’s starting power forward and was in Albuquerque for a game against UNM that had been scheduled to tip off after the match was postponed following news of the shooting.
UNM Shooting: What Did Mike Peake Do?
According to the Las Cruces Sun-News, New Mexico State athletic director Mario Moccia and coach Greg Heiar decided to suspend Mike following UNM Shooting Incident.
But several media claims he didn’t want to publicize the disciplinary action while Peake recovered from a gunshot wound in the leg from the incident and posted that he has had three surgeries.

Peake transported a gun on the team bus to Albuquerque for the Rio Grande rivalry game against the Lobos.
Mike sneaked out of the hotel on early November 19 and went to the UNM campus. Peake, 21, was allegedly “lured” on campus by a 17-year-old female who conspired with three males to bring him on campus and assault him.
Following the incident, the female NMSP host was arrested and booked into a juvenile detention center, where she was charged with aggravated battery and conspiracy.
Is Mike Peake Arrested?
New Mexico State men’s basketball forward Mike Peake was “lured” to the University of New Mexico campus by four New Mexico students before shooting and killing one of them during an altercation, according to Police.
The New Mexico State-New Mexico game on Saturday was canceled due to the altercation in Albuquerque. The suspect was also shot and is now in “stable” condition.

According to Yahoo, New Mexico State Police said Sunday that Peake was “lured” to a UNM residence hall by four students intending to “assault him.”
Police authorities called Peake, who also had a firearm, then shot Travis, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

What Are Mike Peake’s Charges After the Accident?
The athlete has not been charged with a crime, and there is no update on his status as a student at NMSU.
The New Mexico State was not charged, and Police called him a “victim” in their statement. Media claims Mike’s friend Travis conspired with a 17-year-old girl, two male friends, and UNM students to lure Peake to campus and assault him.

Per the Las Cruces Sun News, a 17-year-old female was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and conspiracy.
Sources claim, Two others have been identified, though charges have not been filed. An investigation is still ongoing.
During the UNM Shooting, Mike was shot during the incident and was transported to an area hospital.
When three individuals approached him, Mike was seen on surveillance video walking with a female outside Coronado Hall.
