Who is Sergio Sendel?
Mexican actor Arnoldo Sergio Santaella Sendel was born under the zodiac sign Scorpio on 4 November 1966, in Mexico City. He has 33 acting credits, and is probably still known best for starring as Damian Gallardo in all 145 episodes of the 2009 romantic drama “Manana es Para Siempre”, which also starred Fernando Colunga and Lucero, and follows Eduardo who’s seeking revenge against the Elizaldo family, because they sent him away from his home when he was a teenager.

Sergio was raised in Mexico City solely by his mother Elsa Sendel; he hasn’t spoken about his father in public and it’s believed that he broke up with Elsa while she was pregnant with Sergio. Because he’s yet to speak about having siblings, most of Sergio’s fans believe that he’s an only child.
He studied at a local high school in Mexico City and was into numerous activities during his time there, as he played soccer, was a member of a school band and appeared in a couple of theatre plays.

Sergio’s debut TV series role was playing Chicles in the 1990 romantic drama “Cuando Ilega el Amor”, and the same year saw him portray Gustavo ‘Tavo’ in the romantic drama “Mi Pequena Soledad”. In 1991, he appeared in an episode of three series: the romantic musical “Alcanzar una Estrella II”, the crime thriller “Al Filo de la Muerte” and the adventure “Muchachitas”.
In 1992 and 1993, Sergio starred as Leonardo in all 110 episodes of the family action adventure “Magica Juventud”, which also starred Kate del Castillo and Hector Soberon, and follows the life of Mexican youth in the first half of the ‘90s. Some of Sergio’s notable performances in the remainder of the ‘90s were in the romantic comedy “El Premio Mayor”, the crime thriller “Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real” and the romantic drama “Tres Mujeres”.

In 2001, he played Danilo Roldan Limantur in all 134 episodes of the family action “The Outsider”, which starred Arturo Peniche and Gabriela Spanic, and follows wealthy Rodrigo Junquera who’s about to die after a long illness, and has decided to help his son’s nanny by marrying her, so that she could inherit his fortune. Sergio was then cast to star in the 2002 romantic mystery “The Other Woman”, the 2004 romantic drama “Amarte es mi Pecado” and the 2006 romantic drama “Heridas de Amor”.
In 2007, he starred as Aaron Montalvo in all 170 episodes of the drama “Destilando Amor”, which also starred Eduardo Yanez and Angelica Rivera, and follows a wealthy man who’s fallen for a young girl.
In 2013 and 2014, Sergio played Pedro Medina in 147 episodes of the romantic drama “Lo Que la Vida me Robo”, which starred Angelique Boyer and Sebastian Rulli, and follows Montserrat Mendoza who’s being pushed by her parents into a marriage with billionaire businessman Alejandro Almonte.
Some of Sergio’s most recent roles in TV series have been in the 2019 drama “The Heart Is Never Wrong”, and in 2022 the dramas “Mi Fortuna es Amarte” and “The Count: Love and Honor”.
Roles in movies
Sergio’s appeared in only four movies. His debut was playing a supporting character in the 1991 short drama “Alma Negra, Magia Blanca”, and the following year saw him play Manuel Orellana Jr. in the romantic family drama “Vintage Model”, which starred Alonso Echanove and Silvia Pinal, and was directed by Raul Araiza. It follows astrologist Carmen who’s hosting her own radio show; the movie won two awards.
In 1993, Sergio portrayed a supporting character in the musical comedy “Zapatos Viejos”, which starred Jorge ‘Maromero’ Paez and Gloria Trevi, and was written and directed by Sergio Andrade; it follows the life of a young woman.
Sergio’s only other film role has been playing Raymundo Soto in the 1994 drama “Lo que se Vio y no se Vio de Dos Mujeres, Un Camino”, which starred Carlos Bonavides and Norma Phillip, and which Salvador Garcini directed. It follows two women who are in love with the same man.

Sergio avoids speaking about his love life in public, but we know that he has been a married man. He and Mexican actress Marcella Rodriguez exchanged vows in a small and private ceremony in 1996, attended by less than 100 people; she has 11 acting credits and is perhaps known best for portraying Market Shopper in the 2018 family action “The Second Coming of Christ”, which won three of its nine award nominations. Marcella gave birth to their twins Graco and Valeria in 1998, but their divorce was finalized in 2012.
Some sources mistakenly claim that Sergio’s gay, and was married to Fabian Lavalle instead of Marcella.
There are no other women whom he’s perhaps been with, that we know about; Sergio seems to be unattached as of September 2023, was married to Marcella Rodriguez, and has two children with her (twins).
