Sports Broadcasting Career

Wright began his broadcasting career while still a student at university, initially with the radio station WAER 88.3 FM as a host. The station is located on the campus of Syracuse, and is known for its National Public Radio format as well as its features of jazz music. After completing his education, he went to work with KCSP 610 AM located in Kansas City, as a production assistant. The station is focused on sports radio, and is one of the oldest in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

He gained a lot of experience, and eventually started his own show entitled “What’s Right with Wright”. He did not stay long after, however, and moved to the Houston-based station KILT 610 AM where he would gain more opportunities, and became the host of the show “In the Loop with Nick and Lopez” He stayed there for the next four years, and was then hired by Fox Sports, the sports broadcasting division of the Fox Broadcasting Company established when the company gained broadcasting rights to NFL games. This did not deter him however, as the two stayed in a relationship and eventually married in 2013.
