Mike Lafleur’s salary and career achievements have progressed after being hired as a coach in the New York Jets.

Since 2021, Mike LaFleur has served as the New York Jets offensive coordinator in the National Football League (NFL). The Jets’ record over this time period was 11-20-0.

For the first time in NFL history, the Jets’ inaugural season under LaFleur featured four different quarterbacks, three of whom had made less than ten starts before the season.

Mike also worked for the San Francisco 49ers in a dual role for two seasons before losing the title of wide receivers coach in 2019 after Shanahan hired Wes Welker to join his coaching staff.

Since the Jets revealed they had reached an agreement with Robert Saleh to serve as the team’s next head coach, LaFleur’s hiring had been anticipated. From San Francisco, where he has coordinated the passing game since 2017, LaFleur joins the Jets.

He served as the wide receivers coach during his first two seasons with the 49ers. He previously had employment with the Falcons and Browns. He is the brother of Matt LaFleur, the head coach of the Packers.

After working under Kyle Shanahan, LaFleur got the chance to run his offense. The Jets also revealed the hiring of nine additional offensive assistant coaches in addition to LaFleur.

Mike Lafleur Career Earning Achievements

In 2009, LaFleur began working as an offensive assistant for the Elmhurst Bluejays. From 2010 to 2012, he coached at Saint Joseph’s before accepting a job as Davidson’s offensive coordinator in 2013.

In 2014, Mike agreed to work as an offensive intern for the Cleveland Browns under the direction of offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. For the 2015 and 2016 seasons, LaFleur served as Shanahan’s offensive assistant in Atlanta.

For the first time in NFL history, the Jets’ first season under LaFleur saw four different quarterbacks, three of whom had made fewer than ten starts before the season, throw for 290+ yards and two touchdown passes, respectively.

LaFleur worked with San Francisco for four seasons (2017–20) before joining the Jets, the final three of which he oversaw the passing game.

The San Francisco offense finished in the top 10 in scoring (24.9), total offense (370.6), and rushing offense during his tenure as the passing game coordinator (127.0). With 1,377 receiving yards at the time, two-time All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection George Kittle set an NFL record for a tight end.
