Her career has been active since 2001.

Michaela Conlin Wiki Bio: Early Life, Family and Education

Michaela was raised in her hometown of Allentown by her father Fran, who is of Irish descent, and her mother Denise, who is of Chinese descent. Her father is a contractor while her mother works as an accountant. She made her acting debut at the age of seven, when she played in a Muhlenberg College production of the play “The King and I”. During her time at the Parkland High School, she starred in a number of productions at the Civic Theatre, and regularly took part in her high school plays such as “The Crucible” and “Bye Bye Birdie”.

Having matriculated from high school, she had no doubt that acting was the perfect choice for her, so went on to study theater at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Speaking about her choice of profession, Conlin stated that her parents showed nothing but support all along the way: ‘They never once said, “Maybe you should try something else”.’ Conlin continued to perfect her craft while at the college, by appearing in a number of productions at several acclaimed theaters, such as Atlantic Theater Company and Stonestreet Studios Conservatory.

She also spent a semester in Amsterdam, studying with the international department of the Experimental Theatre Wing.

Career Beginnings

Having graduated from college, Conlin initially sought work in New York. She made several guest appearances in shows such as “Law & Order” and “The Division”. She was also one of the actors chosen to participate in “The It Factor”, a cable documentary series chronicling the lives of aspiring actors in New York City.

However, after the show ended she decided to relocate to Los Angeles with her boyfriend, to fully pursue her acting career. According to Michaela, they only had $400 saved at the time, so it was both a bold and risky move.

Conlin used the saved-up money to hire an agent, and quickly landed regular roles in two new television series – she played young doctor Maggie Yang in the medical drama “The M.D.s” and Jinette McMahon in legal drama “The D.A” – unfortunately, both shows only lasted for one season.

Conlin kept looking for new roles; she acted in movies “Garmento” and “Pipe Dream”, and made guest appearances in shows “The Division” and “JAG”. However, in 2005 she struck gold when she was cast in Fox Crime’s hit show “Bones”.

Rise to Prominence

From 2005 until 2017, Conlin played the role of Angela “Pookie Noodlin” Pearly Gates Montenegro in “Bones”, a crime drama with comedy elements following a team of quirky but genius crime solvers, which also starred Emily Deschanel, David Boreanz and T.J. Thyne.

The show became a huge hit and one of Fox Crime’s most popular productions, regularly finishing in the weekly top 10 most watched programs throughout its run. Angela was one of the most beloved characters in the show, especially after the writers introduced a romantic arch between her and T.J. Thyne’s character, Dr. Jack Hodgins – Angela’s on-screen father was played by ZZ Top’s lead singer and guitarist Billy Gibbons. During her time on the show, Conlin would spent around 10 months per year shooting, leaving little time for other commitments and projects.

Nonetheless, she managed to land several roles in movies such as “Open Window”, “Enchanted”, “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Baby, Baby, Baby”. After “Bones” ended in 2017, Conlin was cast in two new shows – “Here and Now” which also stars Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter, and “Yellowstone” with Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly.

Net Worth

Regarding her wealth, authoritative sources have estimated that the popular actress has garnered more than $4 million over the course of her career. It is assumed that she acquired most of her wealth by playing the role of Angela Montenegro in “Bones” for 12 years.

Personal Life

Speaking about her private life, many fans have been wondering about Michaela’s relationship status. However, the actress has not been keen on sharing personal information with the fans. In an interview from 2009, she mentioned that she was still together with the (nameless) boyfriend with whom she moved to Los Angeles at the beginning of her acting career. The actress recently uploaded a photo on her Instagram account holding her son in her arms; her son’s name is Charlie, and he was born on 3rd February 2019, but who the father is, and if she’s married hasn’t been revealed.

1 I sample a little bit of everything – a bit of ‘House,’ a little bit of ‘Prison Break.’ I love ‘Project Runway;’ it’s my favorite show!
2 Pilot season in L.A. is just this blood bath. They make so many pilots, and such a small percentage are picked up. And then if you are picked up, there are so many variables. You have to get a good time slot, and you have to get promoted. And then you have to thrive in that time slot.

4 Hart Hanson is one of the coolest, smartest producers I’ve ever worked for. He’s very open to ideas, he says no when he should, he says yes when it would work for the show.
