In late 2020, the television presenter shocked people after shedding one stone (14 lbs) in the hope of a healthier lifestyle. He said the secret of his weight loss is Epsom salts.

In February 2017, the comedian and his friend Paul Tonkinson detoxed at the demanding Mayr facility in Austria, where he was “fed” on soup and crackers and through the salty cleanse.
“You drink the Epsom salts first thing, and then within 20 minutes, the entire clinic – which is full of wealthy, overweight people – are all going to the restroom,” Michael recalled of the $2000 per week retreat.
After that, he said he felt “hollow.” As a result of his cleansing, Paul lost 20 pounds and, in Michael’s words, “almost died,” which led to an unpleasant occurrence during a nature hike. So, the two friends prepared to leave and left.
“I had enough,” said McIntyre while talking at the Table Manners podcast. The Wheel host said he was emotional, depressed and confused after losing one stone within six days. He said his friend was skeletal.
