According to the sheriff’s office, Lifei Huang went on a solitary hike at around 2:00 p.m. local time on Sunday and has been missing ever since.
The department noted that the woman had “not been heard from since about 4 p.m.,” and she was reported missing at 11 p.m.

As the strongest of last week’s unprecedented storms pounded Southern California on February 4, Lifei “Ada” Huang, 22, vanished from sight almost two hours into a solo walk, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.
Huang had announced to her loved ones that she would be hiking the mountain the previous weekend. And then came the great storm.
At 4 p.m. on Sunday, she sent her boyfriend the video. For a brief while, the footage showed her on the mountain, outfitted for the challenging walk in inclement weather.
Mount Baldy received three feet of snow earlier this week. Because of the possibility of avalanches, the search for the young woman had to be canceled.
Huang allegedly posted many videos of unfavorable weather conditions she encountered while hiking on social media. After nearly two hours, she stopped talking.
Moreover, Huang’s pals became concerned after she failed to return home on Sunday night.
They tried to go to the trailhead, but Li claimed they “couldn’t do anything” without “professional help.”

Lifei “Ada” Huang, residing in El Monte, was last observed on February 4 at approximately 2:30 p.m., when she set out for a trek on Mount Baldy amid torrential rains caused by an atmospheric river that soaked Southern California.
Hours later, early on Monday morning, the search parties set out, but the mountain’s terrain and the storm’s hazardous conditions prevented them from finding her.
After searching for days without finding Huang, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officers reported that on Saturday at around 3:30 p.m., someone operating a drone in the vicinity thought they had seen Huang’s body.
Huang was discovered dead when Sheriff’s Air Rescue 360 airlifted medical personnel to the scene at approximately 7:45 a.m. on Sunday.
The previous night, strong winds in the area prevented them from conducting an aircraft search.
But, as deputies pointed out, team members remained overnight to protect the scene.
Is Lifei Huang Found Yet?
After a problematic week-long search, the corpse of an El Monte woman who vanished while hiking alone on Mt. Baldy was found on Sunday morning, according to officials.
On February 7, three other hikers held down by the storms the previous day on the Bear Canyon Trail were rescued.
The Sheriff’s Department had issued a warning: “Resources are stretched to their limits, and hikers who get lost may have to wait long periods of time before help is available.”
After nearly a dozen hiker deaths and numerous rescues in recent years, Mt. Baldy has established itself as one of the deadliest hiking locations in the nation.
Access to the summit should be restricted, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
The Sheriff’s Department received a report on Saturday suggesting that Huang’s body may have been seen close to the San Antonia Creek Falls by someone operating a drone.
Up until early Sunday morning, when doctors discovered Huang’s remains, the air rescue crew was unable to search the area due to strong winds.
